

Carole Horst
Communications Officer
Carole Horst was named Communications Officer for the Aleut Family of Companies in April 2010 after joining the company in 2009 as Executive Assistant/Public Affairs. To this position, she brings more than 15 years’ experience in office administration, public relations, and corporate event planning.
Ms. Horst brings a distinguished record of accomplish earned from her work with several Fortune 500 Companies, including Pulte Homes Corp., Deluxe Corp., and Progressive Insurance. Her successes include partnerships with local and national media in the marketing of patented products; coordination of leadership conferences, summits, and retreats; and innovative process developments that streamlined procedures and reduced expenses.
Ms. Horst is a native of Southern California and earned a bachelor of arts in communications from California State University, Fullerton, with additional study at UCLA.
Amelia Swenson
Director Human Resources
Amelia Swenson rejoined the Aleut Family of Companies in November 2008 as the Director of Human Resources. Prior to this, Mrs. Swenson served as Director Human Resources for TekStar Inc. and held various HR positions for Junior Achievement and a Johnson and Johnson Company in Colorado Springs.
Mrs. Swenson is a results oriented professional with unique expertise in development of business systems, processes, and organizational infrastructures.
Mrs. Swenson holds certifications for Administrator for Benchmarks 360 Assessments, Instructor for Behavior Interviewing, Administrator for Succession Planning and Executive Development, Davis Bacon and Service Contracts Acts, as well as many employee relations and labor relations certificates.


Mr. Rafael De Jesus assumed the role of Interim Business Development Director in June 2010. In this position, Mr. De Jesus oversees daily operation of the Business Development department and assumes responsibility for all business development and revenue growth activities for the Aleut family of government service companies.
Prior to moving into this role, Mr. De Jesus was a Senior Business Development Manager with Aleut Management Services where he led Base Operations and Logistics Operations technical proposal development and review. He has extensive experience in Federal Government services contracting and acquisitions, and has been involved in successful small and large business development activities.
Before joining Aleut Management Services, Mr. De Jesus worked at Raytheon Technical Services Company, LLC for thirteen years. The last five years he performed as a Program Manager, Logistics Support Services Program at Fort Bliss, TX.
Mr. De Jesus served as a United States Army Commissioned Officer before entering private industry. He retired from service after twenty-six years of successful command, leadership and support operations. Mr. De Jesus holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from La Salle University. He is a graduate of the United States Army Command General Staff College, and holds certifications in Principles of Program Leadership from Babson College, Wellesley, MA; The Logistics Executive Management Course, US Army Logistics Management College; and The Multifunctional CSS (90A) Course, US Army Logistics Management College.

Birgit Cegielski
Director of Compliance
Birgit Cegielski assumed the role of Director of Compliance in April 2010 after serving as Compliance Manager since September 2003. She also manages the ISO 9001:2000 Certified Quality Management System for the Aleut Family of Companies.
Previously, Mrs. Cegielsky held the position of Quality Control Specialist, which she assumed in October 1995. Her experience spans 21 years as a quality auditor. Mrs. Cegielski also served nine years on active duty in the US Air Force.
Mrs. Cegielski is a Member of the American Society of Quality and Member of the Colorado Safety Association. She is a Certified ISO Internal Quality Auditor and has completed ISO 9000:2000 Lead Auditor Training TÜV ESSEN, California ISO 9000 Consulting. Theory, Practice and Techniques of performing ISO 9001 Internal Quality Audits, Burnham Associates International, Inc.

Barbara L. Ivy, CPA
Controller
Previously, Ms. Ivy served as Controller at Vestar, a land developer and property manager located in Phoenix, Arizona. In this position, Ms. Ivy was responsible for managing annual gross revenue of $200 Million, preparing monthly financial statements, coordinating annual audits and tax return preparation, and managing the accounting staff.
Ms. Ivy is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Arizona and Colorado and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from The University of Nevada. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Colorado Society of CPAs.
